According to Bowie’s owner and rescuer Maria Lloret from Spain, the cat is very playful, often excessively so, and adores playing with other cats, although not all of them feel the same way. In our interview with Maria, we’ll delve into Bowie’s energetic and playful nature and discuss why people should consider adopting rescue pets. Despite being named after the renowned English musician David Bowie, Maria acknowledges that the celebrity didn’t possess heterochromia. However, we can’t help but notice the similarity in appearance between the two and ponder if the beloved feline possesses any hidden musical talents.

Wow, what a stunning creature! Its colors are so vibrant and varied, it’s like being transported to a magical world like Willy Wonka’s. From the lovely pink to the deep blue, the bright yellow to the rich red and brown, there’s so much to appreciate. I even caught myself capitalizing “White” – how strange! But let’s get back to admiring this magnificent cat.

Similar to most cats, Bowie enjoys taking long naps and has a big appetite. According to his owner, Maria, there hasn’t been any food that he doesn’t like. When he sees treats, he starts purring right away. His favorite toys are little mice that make sounds when shaken, and it’s amusing to watch him play because he throws them in the air and catches them. Bowie was abandoned in a park when he was only three months old, but luckily, he was found by a local animal shelter in Maria’s hometown of Benidorm, where he ultimately found his forever home.

After stumbling upon an advertisement for a family wanting to adopt a cat, Maria and her sister instantly fell in love with Bowie. Aside from his good looks, Bowie’s affectionate demeanor and constant purring won their hearts. Upon bringing him home, Bowie devoured his food and cozied up in Maria’s arms for a nap.
Maria shared that all of her cats are rescues and she couldn’t be happier. To her, rescuing animals from shelters instead of buying them can save lives. There are countless animals waiting for a second chance at finding a loving home. Furthermore, Maria actively promotes adopting black cats as they often get overlooked due to superstitions. She previously had a black cat named Louis who wasn’t in the best health, but with some tender love and care, he turned into an amazing companion. The family misses him dearly.

The owner of Bowie, a black cat with heterochromia, shared that cats who are older, have disabilities, or are ill are often the last to find homes. However, she emphasized that these cats make great companions. Older cats are more relaxed and won’t cause damage to furniture. Cats with health issues can teach their owners patience and the true meaning of love. And black cats are said to bring good luck! Maria also mentioned that some people have disputed Bowie’s name because the singer himself did not have heterochromia. Despite this, she felt that Bowie was the perfect name for her cat due to his unique blue and green eyes and distinctive nose marking.
