Zinedine Zidane and Lionel Messi are two living legends of world football. However, in the past, this duo did not have many opportunities to sit down and chat because they worked for two opposing teams, Real and Barca.

However, recently, Messi met his senior Zidane in an interview. The two stars did not forget to give each other kind words before exchanging jerseys.

“When talking about Messi, we only have one word: magic. Messi and I don’t have the opportunity to meet often. Therefore, today is an important opportunity for me to tell Messi that I admire him very much. “All football fans have the same thought that Messi has the ability to do magic with the ball,” Zidane shared.

Meanwhile, Messi used the word “great” to describe Zidane. “I share this not because Zidane is here because I have mentioned this several times. Zidane is one of the greatest players in history. I have always admired and loved him. I often I’ve been following Zidane regularly since I came to Barca,” Messi commented.

After 17 years of playing professional football, Zidane has had a fulfilling career, pocketing all the major titles possible from the C1 Cup, Euro to the World Cup. He also won the 1998 Golden Ball and was elected FIFA’s best player of the year three times. Becoming a coach, Zidane left his mark when Real won the C1 Cup three times in a row.

Messi is the player who owns the record for winning the most collective titles in history (44 titles). The Argentine superstar has also received the Golden Ball award 8 times. With the 2022 World Cup championship, Messi has successfully captured the last major trophy. At the age of 36, Messi is enjoying playing football at Inter Miami.
