Over the years, Art Basel in Miami (USA) has become an increasingly important event for car enthusiasts, an opportunity for luxury brands to introduce new products to the upper class, those who can afford it.
As the name suggests, the event features a variety of artworks, and this Pagani Zonda model made of gold coins is probably one of the standout pieces of this year’s event.

This is a 1:1 scale replica of the real Pagani Zonda F created by Uruguayan artist Joaquin Arbiza, made from Uruguayan coins. The work was commissioned by renowned car collector Jorge Gomez, and took three years to complete, longer than the time it took Pagani to produce a V12-powered Zonda F.
It took more than 500,000 welding points for the coins to connect to form the shape of a supercar (Photo: IBP Media).
Every detail of the car is made from gold coins welded together. The craftsman used more than 100,000 coins and more than half a million welding points.
Several coins have been painted black to create the face of the famous football player Lionel Messi on the hood. It is clear that the craftsman and owner of this unique car must be a big fan of the Argentine football legend.

The artist had to bend many coins to create the exact curves of the Zonda F supercar. Even the rims and tires were made from coins.
