Have you ever seen a more bling ring than this whopping diamond-encrusted creation?

The most diamonds set in one ring now stands at a staggering 50,907, and was achieved by H.K. Designs and Hari Krishna Exports Pvt. Ltd (India) in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India on 11 March 2023.

H.K Designs is a manufacturer and exporter of diamond studded jewellery – part of Hari Krishna Group – which has been supplying diamonds to major retailers and wholesalers around the world since 2005.

The record was previously held by SWA Diamonds only last year, with their Ami mushroom-shaped ring comprised of 24,679 diamonds.

The new record-breaking ring is completely made out of recycled gold as well as diamonds re-purposed from returns received from customers.

According to H.K Designs the finished ring weighs 460.55 grams (1 lb 0.25 oz) and has a value of $785,645 (approx. £639,476;€ 725,133).

The entire process from ideation to crafting took almost nine months to complete.

Given the daunting goal of being able to hold over 50,000 diamonds, importance was put on the design itself with many possible ideas discussed by the team.

The winning design being a sunflower with a butterfly delicately perched on top, the ring is aptly named Eutierria, which means becoming one with nature.

The computer aided design (CAD) itself took almost four months to perfect before the team were satisfied with the output.

Once the CAD was finalized, the ring was created using the lost wax casting method, where each part was cast in 18 carat gold.

With the design assembled, each diamond was carefully placed by experienced artisans and then the ring underwent further polishing.

For the final step of the manufacturing process, rhodium was applied to the petals and butterfly wings.

A total of eight parts, which include four layers of petals, the shank, two diamond discs and the butterfly make up this glistening ring.

In accordance with GWR’s guidelines, the diamonds had to be sourced from producers that are certified by the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS), which prevents “conflict” diamonds from entering the mainstream market.

A team of qualified diamond and jewellery experts from the International Gemological Institute (IGI) certified the ring

To further support the CSR efforts and sustainability commitments of the company, they’ve pledged to donate a tree for every diamond placed on the ring.

Now, six different Indian jewellers have broken the most diamonds set on a ring record, each time adding more diamonds, previous creations include Hyderabad-based Hallmark Jewellers (India) with 7,801 diamonds in 2020.

Not to mention, the most diamonds set on a watch joining the category’s ranks achieved by Renani Jewels (India) late last year.
