Michelena, from Copernhagen, Denmark, gave birth to her triplets by Caesarean section when she was just over 35 weeks pregnant. The new mom already had two daughters when she became pregnant for the third time, and she didn’t hesitate to share her journey with her 260,000 Instagram followers, the wonderful but also challenging journey of carrying triplets.
“The birth of the triplets was the wildest 36 hours of my life,” she mentioned.
The influencer said she would like to “curl up in a corner and cry about how unimaginable this all seemed to her.” In a video, she posted the night before she gave birth to her triplets, which garnered thousands of likes and comments, she admitted she was “scared like crazy.”
She said: “It feels so surreal preparing to welcome the three babies, and I feel like I can’t handle it all. I just can’t imagine it. I have bad thoughts. I can do it, will they succeed? But luckily, I know that the only thing that matters to me is that my babies will be born tomorrow. And on that, I can say we succeeded. I kept them for over 35 weeks. And now we really can’t do more than hope for the best.”
She also revealed that her doctors had discovered that blood had accumulated in her uterus, which her body was unable to expel, increasing the risk of inflammation. She now plans to undergo a curettage procedure.
After welcoming her triplets, the influencer called the birth “the wildest 36 hours” of her life. “I’m in terrible pain,” she wrote. “And right now, I can’t imagine myself out of this nightmare. Fortunately, lying down with three adorable boys on your chest helps. Yes, I already had the pleasure of having it all together, and it was magical.”
In the end, MichellΠ° said it was all “worth it,” and her heart is “about to break with happiness and love” for her triplets. “There is an emptiness in my belly, but my heart and my hands have never been so full of love and happiness,” she wrote on Instagram. “My boys are amazing. That’s about how I can sum it up. It’s peaceful, and we’re totally in love.”
In a post she shared 10 days after giving birth, MichellΠ° opened up about her post-baby body and admitted that although her belly has “shrunken significantly,” she still feels very uncomfortable. “It’s already shrunk significantly, but it’s heavy and incredibly painful,” she explained. “C-sections are not uncomfortable unless I have to cough, sneeze, or (God forbid) throw up. But my bowels are really rolling in this big belly, which is uncomfortable and painful. My uterus is just under the skin and is extremely sensitive – the slightest touch bothers me. And for the past few days, my stomach looks like a big black mark. It hurts even when I breathe.”
