Aliens can live much closer than we think. Scientists have found that the planets of the approximate systems have a large amount of water than previously thought. In February 2016, NASA announced the discovery of the star TRAPPIST-1, which has 7th worlds.
This system has attracted the attention of alien hunters, because three planets are in the habitat zone – the area around the star, where conditions are favorable for the presence of liquid water on the surface. It is believed that there are oceans on these planets. Researchers say that life can be formed next to water.
New analysis reports that on some planets of the solar system there is water, which constitutes at least 5% of the mass of the worlds. That is, on such planets can be located 250 times more water than on Earth. All planets of the TRAPPIST-1 system resemble the Earth (the core surrounded by the atmosphere). The worlds are numbered from b to h, where the “e” is considered the most promising for life. The specific exoplanet is most in mass, radius, and energy derived from a star resembles the Earth.
Planets TRAPPIST-1 are suitable for alien life forms
For the study, the method of transit-time variations (TTV) was used, which allowed us to determine the masses and densities of worlds. This technique includes the observation of the motion of the planet around the host star from the point of view of the earth observer, due to which the formation of the planet can be explained. TTV analysis showed that their density ranges from 0.6 to 1.0 from the Earth’s, and 5% is allocated to water or thick ice layers.
