Gabriela Peralta (Argentina) and Victor Hugo Peralta (Uruguay) are passionate about tattoos and body modification.
The couple hold the Guinness World Records title for the most body modifications (married couple) with an incredible total of 84, as verified on the set of on the Show dei Record in Milan, Italy, on 7 July 2014.
Together, they have:
- 50 piercings
- Eight microdermals
- 14 body implants
- Five dental implants
- Four ear expanders
- Two ear bolts
- One forked tongue
However, ever since their record was confirmed, they have continues to tattoo and modify their bodies, so the count is around 98 now. For example, the pair have since had their sclera, or white part of their eyes, tattooed, making their eyeballs inky black.
Other body mod record holders have had this done too, including Rolf Buchholz, the man with the most body modifications and the most piercings.
Extreme body modification record breakers and why they do it
Due to their alternative appearance, the couple have been dubbed the “cherubs from hell”.
Gabriela and Victor met in Buenos Aires, Argentina approximately 24 years ago at a motorcycle event, an event that would change their lives.
It was love at first sight. From that moment on, they knew they would share the rest of their lives pursuing their passion for implants and body modifications, some of which, they admit, are very painful.
The couple have been happily married for 14 years. The love and dedication that they have for each other makes each of them feel empowered and proud of who they really are.
Victor’s first body modification, the stars on his forehead, was in 2009. Loving his new look, Gabriela quickly followed with her own modifications.
“The modification I like most about Victor are the star-shaped silicone implants he has on his forehead – actually, I like all the modifications he has on his forehead.” – Gabriela Peralta
For the couple, body modifications are the greatest symbol of artistic expression and freedom.
They demonstrate that Gabriela and Victor are not afraid to be different and feel proud of their beliefs and perspectives on life.
“For me, being a Guinness World Records holder is a prize that life gives me for the love of body art, and I am very grateful because this record helped me achieve one of my big dreams: traveling to 20 countries, getting to know different cultures, and making new friendships around the world.” – Victor Hugo Peralta
The most painful modifications for Gabriela have been the scarifications; she has three and says the sensation is incomparable to any other modification.
Her favorites are the implants she has on her hands and forehead.
On the other hand, for Victor, the most painful experience was the pigmentation of his tongue, which caused difficulty breathing for hours. It was all worth it in the end, though, as it is one of his favorite modifications.
Their love of body art motivates them to make more modifications to their body.
This energetic and colorful couple believes that the secret to a successful marriage is a shared love of art, modifications, tattoos and, above all, love, commitment and respect for each other.
“Enjoy life, enjoy the art. Tattoos don’t make you a good or bad person – it’s just art. There will be those who appreciate it and others who don’t.” – Victor
