Stunning photographs depict the moment a little boy assisting his mother during childbirth holds the newborn and cuts the umbilical cord.
We are not used to seeing such scenes in the United States, but elsewhere it is common for older children to assist their mother during childbirth, therefore witnessing the birth of their youngest sibling.
The photographs shared on her personal Instagram account by mom thelavenderdoula, as she is known on the popular network, are really enchanted. There is no other term to adequately depict the magnificence of the moment when the elder brother assists his mother in delivering his smaller sister.
The photos were captured with her camera by @milkandhannah, as Hollie Lau comments under her post.
“Introducing baby Robin Indigo, born to her brother Charlie on May 16th at 4:13am.”
In the photographs seen below, Charlie dons gloves and, with the midwife, assists in the birth of Robin. Despite the presence of his father and younger brother, he has taken on this responsibility with tremendous zeal.
In addition to assisting in the birth of his sister, 9-year-old Charlie got the distinction of cutting the umbilical cord.
The photos are magical and unique and deserve the applause of all of us since it’s not every day you see a little boy helping his mom give birth.
