Antonela Roccuzzo, Lionel Messi’s wife, is the center of attention of fans after a controversial photo that has gone viral on social media, in which she appears to have an affectionate gesture with Luis Suárez, her husband’s close friend and teammate at Inter Miami.

The 2024 Copa America final wasn’t exactly perfect for Lionel Messi, who was substituted in the 65th minute due to an ankle injury. Despite that, Messi was able to enjoy the taste of victory when Argentina beat Colombia. During his recovery, Messi and his family took a yacht trip in Miami.

Antonela Roccuzzo shared some photos on Instagram from this trip. She sported a pink two-piece bikini and her husband’s red swimsuit, posing for photos with Messi on the yacht. Messi also caught the eye with his large orthopedic shoes. Also on the yacht were Luis Suarez and his wife Sofia Balbi, along with Sofia’s sister Mariana and Mariana’s husband. Antonela wrote: “We are a team and also a family, a spectacular team.”

However, Antonela became the focus of attention when a photo showed her touching Luis Suárez instead of her husband. This image quickly spread on social media and generated a lot of controversy. Some people did not hesitate to claim that this action was a “betrayal” by Antonela, comparing her and Luis Suárez to Mauro Icardi and Wanda Nara, who also starred in a similar love scandal.

In response to these rumours, Antonela explained: “I had no intention other than to take a souvenir photo with our close friends. We had a wonderful trip and the photos are just fun times together. I love my husband and nothing can change that.”

Antonela’s explanation hopes to calm speculation and protect her relationship with Lionel Messi and his friends.
