One of the ways we anticipate fashion enthusiasts incorporating this color into their looks is through elegant pink nail designs for their manicures. I had the opportunity to chat with Kameron Lange, a nail artist at Tricoci Salon and Spas, to get the scoop on the latest trends in pink nail designs (and to start planning my next manicure appointment).

“Pink nails are definitely in vogue, partly due to the influence of the Pantone Color of the Year 2023, Viva Magenta, which falls within the red and pink spectrum,” Lange explains. “Furthermore, the release of the Barbie movie this year has contributed to the surge in popularity of the color pink.” Barbiecore, a prominent aesthetic trend on TikTok, celebrates the iconic pink hue associated with Barbie while incorporating ultra-feminine and Y2K elements. Need a real-world example? Look no further than Paris Hilton strutting down the Versace spring/summer 2023 runway adorned in head-to-toe pink sparkles. Additionally, Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Barbie movie, featuring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, has reignited interest in blush tones for nail designs.

Lange suggests exploring trendy pink nail styles such as pink chrome (affectionately dubbed “strawberry donut glazed nails,” thanks to Hailey Bieber), or opting for pink French tips. There’s also been a resurgence of ombre nails, classic French nails, and micro designs. However, achieving these looks requires meticulous attention to detail and thorough preparation. “Precise cuticle work and nail shaping are crucial for achieving a flawless polish application,” Lange emphasizes. “Furthermore, it’s important to select a shade that complements the client’s skin tone and personal aesthetic.”
