The discovery of two “beasts” in the ancient tomb excited experts in the region!
During the Ming and Qing dynasties there were many grave robbers. Although the court has issued a ban, there are still people who work illegally for profit. In particular, the tombs of princes, aristocrats and the rich, became the first choice of grave thieves.
In ancient times, the burial method of monks was different from that of ordinary people. They mainly use cremation to dispose of their remains, but not all monks use this method. In the Ming Dynasty, there was a very famous monk named Nghiem Cu Quang.
He is a monk from Sichuan, living in Neijiang city, Sichuan, China. After his death, he did not conduct cremation but was buried at Tianla Mountain, Longchang City, Sichuan Province.

However, according to historical records, no valuable objects were lost in the tomb of Zen Master Nghiem Cu Quang. Perhaps it was because in his tomb there were no valuable objects, or maybe these tomb robbers hid them after stealing so future posterity would not know.
During the 3rd national cultural relic census in 2009, Zen Master Nghiem Cu Quang’s mausoleum became a key cultural relic at the district level.
Experts had to spend a lot of effort to open the tomb of the Zen master. After opening, the archaeological team found a very small stone chamber, only about 6 meters long and 3 meters wide.
Due to natural causes, the tomb door was damaged, very shabby, even the peony pattern on the inner wall was worn out and the color was unknown. After experts went inside, they discovered it was empty, with no cultural relics, only a stele recording the life of Zen Master Nghiem Cu Quang.

While in despair, the team of experts suddenly discovered that something was moving, even emitting light. Everyone was very surprised. As the expert gradually approached the light, the two beasts ran out of the grave.
Before everyone could settle down, this beast quickly disappeared without a trace. But fortunately, some people reacted faster than them and quickly snapped a few pictures of this mysterious wildlife.
Photos of these beasts were also handed over to relevant departments for identification. After examining, experts discovered that the “beast” was actually a 50-year-old extinct dog badger, four “blue lights” were exactly their eyes.
According to the records of the Forestry Department of Long Xuong district, this dog badger has been extinct in the territory of Long Xuong city since the 1950s, up to now, it has been more than half a century. The cause of extinction is due to indiscriminate hunting and killing by humans.
According to the archaeological team, this “tour” did not bring back many valuable relics, but finding an extinct animal was also a great luck.
