Pavel Semenyuk, 87 years old, has a total of 346 descendants.
Pavel Semenyuk, 87 years old, has always dreamed of having a huge family and that desire increased when his wife gave birth to 13 children.
So far, Mr. Pavel has a total of 346 descendants, including: 13 children, 127 grandchildren, 203 great-grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The youngest member of this extended family is only 2 weeks old.
The Semenyuk family lives in the village of Dobroslav in the Odessa Oblast region, Ukraine. The 87-year-old said the only difficulty he faced was remembering the names of all his children.
“I know the names of the older children, but often I don’t remember the names of the younger grandchildren,” Mr. Pavel said.
Mr. Pavel received the title of the largest family in Ukraine.
When one member of the extended family gets married, others build a new house in the village for the newlyweds.
Vira Semenyuk, Mr. Pavel’s 66-year-old daughter, said: “We usually cook a lot of food to celebrate birthday events and weddings of family members. The women always help each other.”
A few days ago, the Semenyuk clan was officially recognized as the largest family in Ukraine. They have now applied to the Guinness World Records organization for recognition as the largest family on the planet.
