Members of the E-Jump Fuji (Japan) in Fuji, Shizuoka, Japan, managed to jump over the spinning rope 230 times, five more than the previous record which was set by elementary school students in the same area.
The way 12 skippers swiftly hops through the fast-spinning rope like clockwork is simply mesmerising.
This attempt was made at a rope-skipping lesson. The E-Jump Fuji team consists of elementary school students in the Fuji city, some of which were team members of the previous record holder.
Naoyuki Nishizawa, chairman of the Fuji Municipal Rope Skipping Association, says fast-skipping in a figure-of-eight is E-Jump Fuji’s specialty.
Japan produces some of the best rope-skipping records – like Sadatoshi Watanabe who has two Guinness World Records titles that are related to rope skipping, and Double Dutch team Diana.
