When Lionel Messi joined the MLS, he had to pay a lot of money to have his family’s Bordeaux Mastiff taken away.
This past weekend, Argentine comedian Migue Granados stated that the choice to break ways with Hulk was partly based on the dog’s health. Granados had been at his Miami house interviewing the 2023 World Cup winner.
After interviewing for his show on the streaming network OLGA last Thursday, Granados made a joke about putting their beloved poodle Abu in a bag and demanding a hefty ransom. He found out about the death in the family at this point.
The absence of the Hulk startled him.
He replied, “He’s in Barcelona,” when I asked him where the bull was. The Hulk is present. He is growing older. Granados stated, “Therefore, we had to house him in the house we own in Barcelona.”
Lionel Messi plays with the family’s seven-year-old Bordeaux Mastiff, Hulk. When the family relocated to Miami this summer from Barcelona, Hulk did not accompany them.
In 2016, Messi, now 36, brought Hulk into the household as a puppy. He shared a photo of himself holding the dog on Instagram.
“New member of my family,” he wrote at the time. “Thank you for this beautiful gift, love.”
He used to frequently share images and videos of their dog on Instagram with his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo. However, they haven’t done that since Messi returned to Spain in 2021 while playing for PSG in order to heal from an injury.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner considered how stressful it would be for Hulk if he moved across continents in July.
Messi and Hulk, the family’s seven-year-old Bordeaux Mastiff dog, unwind at home in Barcelona.
Messi’s canine companion Hulk, a Bordeaux K9, is seven years old. Some can live up to eleven years, although the majority only live five to eight.
Messi and Hulk play with his family at home. Hulk is currently being cared for by the personnel at the upscale home in Castelldefels, a neighborhood 12 miles from Barcelona.
Dogs of this breed can grow up to 27 inches tall and weigh up to 110 pounds. Some of them live to be eleven years old, but most only live to be five or eight.

Messi stated that his three boys, Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro, are dropped off at school, and his family rises around 7 a.m. for a communal breakfast.
He then returns home with his spouse to watch their favorite shows or take a nap. On other days, he arrives early to work out with Inter Miami. Around 3 p.m., both of them pick up the children, and Thiago and Mateo are driven to the club’s football practice.
Messi was thrilled about the prospect of having additional kids as well.
“We would like,” he said. “We’re not involved in the search, but the girl should come.”
