Inter Miami and Lionel Messi have reportedly received an invitation from Barcelona SC for a friendly match to celebrate the club’s 100th anniversary.
According to Primicias, Barcelona SC, a team from Ecuador, is planning to organize a special event Noche Amarilla 2025, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the club’s founding, and Inter Miami with Lionel Messi is considered a potential guest.
According to inside sources, the team of owners Jorge and Josa Mas and former player David Beckham may come to Banco Pichincha Stadium on February 1, 2025 to participate in this special friendly match.
To bring Inter Miami to the club, a sponsor is required to pay between $3 and $5 million, the fee the American team demands for each friendly match. It is known that Barcelona SC has a partner ready to support this amount of money, opening up a great opportunity for Messi and his teammates to participate in this important event.
Money isn’t the only factor, though. Inter Miami’s busy schedule also needs to be considered. The Herons will be competing in two major tournaments in February 2025: Concachampions, which is scheduled to start on February 4, and the new MLS season, which begins on February 22. However, with a gap between the two tournaments, Inter Miami’s trip to Ecuador is still possible.
Barcelona SC not only wants to invite Inter Miami, but also hopes that Messi will wear the club’s traditional yellow shirt for a few minutes to mark this special occasion. If this becomes a reality, the Argentine superstar will join the list of stars who have participated in Noche Amarilla, including Ronaldinho, Diego Forlán, Kaka, Andrea Pirlo, Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez.
Noche Amarilla has long been an occasion for Barcelona SC to present their official squad for the new season, while also giving fans the chance to witness the biggest stars of world football.
In this important anniversary year, Barcelona SC aims to conquer LigaPro, Copa Ecuador and Copa Libertadores. The team will be led by coach Segundo Castillo and will be well prepared to achieve great success.
