Ighalo, who scored the most goals in the Saudi Pro League for Al-Hilal last year, said that money was the main reason he and other stars chose to play in Saudi Arabia.
Ighalo said in an interview with OmaSportsTV, which was posted on Sportskeeda, “When you’re young, you do play for love. You didn’t care about money back then.
“But at my age, I’m in the last part of my job. I don’t know if it will be one year, two years, or when God will tell it to end.
“I don’t think it will be longer than three years.
“I’ve always played because I loved it, but now I do it for money.”I’m not one of those guys who says, “I play because I love it.” It’s money, brother. In the end, it’s all about money.”
The 34-year-old then talked about Ronaldo, who supposedly makes £173 million a year at Al-Nassr, which is much more than Lionel Messi makes at Inter Miami. He also asked, “Does Ronaldo still play because he loves it? Ronaldo has made 100 times as much money as I have in my whole life, but he still went to Saudi Arabia.
“Did he do that because he was angry? It’s for cash, dude.”
Ronaldo has scored 14 goals in 19 games since he moved to the Middle East. He is 38 years old.
Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson are just a few of the stars who have joined him since he moved there.
