Lakshmi, a girl from India, was named after the Hindu goddess of wealth but was unfortunate to be born with four arms and four legs. She inherited the limbs and other body parts from a conjoined twin at birth.
At the age of 2, Lakshmi underwent a surgery and now she has a body like a normal girl. The surgical procedure to remove the extra limbs lasted for 27 hours and was performed by India’s top 30 skilled doctors.

Nguyen Xuan Minh is a boy with a peculiarly deformed skull. The reason behind this is that his parents were exposed to Agent Orange, a toxic substance, during the Vietnam War. With his unusual appearance, the boy has become an emblem of the campaign advocating for the rights of war victims.

Being bullied at school is not uncommon for An Qi. The Chinese boy was born with a condition where hair grows abnormally on the right half of his face. Not only does it grow in undesirable locations, but this hair also tends to grow long and requires constant trimming.

Living in a small village in East India, where Mohammad was born, he bears the appearance of a “demon” according to the local community, which prohibits him from accessing education.
