Kitty’s journey took her from the harsh streets to a loving home, where she experienced a comfortable and welcoming environment. Here, she was finally able to enjoy a good meal and receive all the tender loving care that her rescuers had to offer.
A volunteer involved in caring for her expressed admiration for her, saying: “She is a fascinating and exquisite cat. Having kept cats for over 15 years, I have never come across a calico with blue eyes as striking as hers. It’s really amazing”.
Once Amity found herself in the loving arms of her guardians, she longed for nothing more than a quiet, peaceful space where she could relax. And finally, she was able to do just that.
Her guardians made dedicated efforts to spend a lot of time with her every day, giving her the attention and affection that she craved from her. Amity particularly enjoyed the joy of having her stomach gently rubbed, finding pure happiness in those moments of relaxation.
Amity went into labor within days of her rescue and insisted on having her caretaker around to help bathe the babies.
She thought it was all over after giving birth to five kittens, but an hour later they were shocked to find a sixth baby. Since the cat was not interested in cleaning it, her guardian did.
However, the adoptive mother discovered that there were more babies than she had anticipated. In this regard, she said:
“I did a double take and counted seven babies; when I found out there were seven babies, I cleaned her and she immediately latched on and started nursing.”
Amity spent the next few days happily tending to her litter of seven kittens, nursing and feeding them throughout the day. Her appetite had dropped abruptly and she had some gastrointestinal issues that needed to be addressed immediately.
Fortunately, Georgina, a veterinarian and newborn caregiver, arrived to provide all the assistance she required.
