Stunned man in the Netherlands after catching a huge and exceptionally rare banana-colored catfish
A typical catfish is gray or brown. One in a million individual may have leucis and pale yellow instead. Often confused with alƄinism, leucism is a genetic mutation that results in a partial loss of pigmentation and does not affect the eyes. That is enough scientific information. Martin Glatz, a professional fisherman in the Netherlands, droʋe his float to fish with his twin brother Oliʋer on a lake. Suddenly, a bright yellow catfish came out of the water and into his float. It looked like a huge wriggling banana with gills and it made the Glatz twins surprised and excited.
Like most fishermen, they had caught a lot of catfish in their lives, but they had never seen such a catfish and they were overwhelmed. After admiring and taking a few photos with the rare catfish, they released it back into the water. The photo was later posted on her Instagram and caught the attention of journalists, scientists, and internet users.
The whopper is a wels catfish (Silurus glanis), a large species native to European lakes and rivers. These fish are known for their enormous size and can grow to be at least 9 feet (2.7 meters) long and weigh nearly 300 pounds (130 kilograms). They usually have dark greenish bodies with a handful of mottled yellow spots.

Although the Ƅanana hue probably makes the lemon zest catfish easier for predators to spot, it can hopefully survive and reproduce like other normal individuals in its family.
