A cat appears on a property seeking shelter. Before anyone could get their help, they discovered kittens in the yard.
A few weeks ago, Coastal Bend Cat Rescue received a notification about a pregnant cat that had been found wandering around a property.
The searchers believed that the cat had been abandoned there and sought help. Before rescuers could help the cat, she chose a place to have kittens in the yard.
“They said mommy was super sweet and hoped we could take these babies when they were old enough,” CBCR officer Mary Hackbarth told Love Meow.
A volunteer who already had foster cats in her care learned about the cats’ family and offered to care for them. Despite having her hands full, she set up a quiet and comfortable space for them to move into.
With the help of the foster owner, they were able to get mom, Symphony, and their seven little ones to safety.
Simone and her kittens settled in wonderfully after exploring their new quarters for a bit. She quickly went back to her mommy duties as the seven hungry mouths invaded her.
“Simone got her name because she was always talking (meowing and chirping) and purring. All of her babies were named after famous composers. From the beginning, they loved pets and tummy rubs,” Mary shared with Love Meow.
With many demands on her seven adorable kitties, Simone works around the clock, catering to her every whim. She makes sure he doesn’t miss or skip a single meal or playtime.
The kittens grow and develop with “notes and chords” and begin to run and cartwheel with each other. “They love to play and wrestle and sleep in a big pile,” Mary fondly describes.
“The two girls, Fanny Mendelsson and Hildegaard from Bingen, are very confident and are the first to explore. Ludwig van Beethoven likes to sit down, analyze and join in once it’s proven to be fun. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Igor Stravinsky and Johann Sebastian Bach just want to snuggle up all day.
“If they start wrestling while they’re in a puddle of hugs on their foster mom’s lap, that’s even better. Antonio Vivaldi would rather climb a cat tree, food container, foster mother…he will climb anything.”
The crew of seven enjoy their daily and nightly hugs in a close-knit embrace, sonically rumbling in perfect harmony. They fill the room with constant purrs and chirps.
Every time her foster mom walks through the door, she is met with the sweetest sounds of little songwriters.
Symphony maintains a purring metronome to help your gifted little ones keep up with their music creation.
The rescue recently took in a lonely kitty who showed exceptional signs of being a prodigy. “He was showing a lot of behavioral signs of being a single ton with a lot of bittersweet notes and scratches.”
Once the kitten received musicological clearance to interact with the other cats, they decided to introduce him to Symphony and the composers.
“They welcomed their mix and are teaching her good kitten play skills. So now Hans Zimmer is also part of the team.”
They accepted the lonely kitty into their big family, making sure their newly adopted family member was cared for and loved.
Once the kittens are old enough to be adopted in a few weeks, they will be put up for adoption and begin searching for loving homes.
“Simpsony and her kitties are sure to find great loving homes.”
