(CPV) – In a mass wedding that took place in Baran district in Rajasthan state (India), more than 2,143 couples exchanged vows and became husband and wife.
The event, organized by Shri Mahaveer Goshala Kalyan Sansthan, broke two Guinness World Records for most couples getting married in 12 hours and most couples getting married in 24 hours.
At the memorable event in Baran, each couple received blessings from the officials in attendance, including Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Indian Cabinet Minister Pramod Jain Bhaya.

Indian officials say the meaning of this mass wedding is to help less fortunate couples get married and start a life together. The special event was attended by more than 1 million people, including those who organized gatherings to celebrate and show support for the mass wedding.
After the wedding ceremony was over, a party was organized to cater to all the newlyweds and guests.
