To fulfill that dream, Sam Cox bought a 12-room mansion in Kent (UK) for £1.35 million (nearly VND 39 billion). After that, he manually covered the newly purchased mansion with many doodles, creating a unique “living work of art”.
The boy bought a 12-room villa for nearly 39 billion VND.
It is known that the villa that Sam Cox bought was built in 1974. The previous owners used gold wallpaper in the living room. When selling it back to the male artist in 2019, they only had one request not to doodle on it, but he did not listen.
The 28-year-old male artist started realizing his dream in September 2020, from the master bedroom and took 2 weeks to complete the first room. Each room in the villa has its own specific theme, dreams in the bedroom, heaven and hell in the stairwell, Adam & Eve on the landing, or ocean in the bathroom.
He uses heat resistant paint to keep the paint job perfect. As he doodles everywhere, Sam Cox feels like he is in a state of creative freedom. It is known that in addition to the million-dollar mansion, Sam Cox also doodles on his wife’s Tesla car. Every time there is a job going through town, the car attracts attention, making many people excited.
Sam Cox revealed that he used a total of 900 liters of white emulsion paint, 401 bottles of black spray paint (for the outside), 286 bottles of paint (for the inside) and 2,296 specialized brushes. The total time to cover every corner of the villa is nearly 2 years.

Although this artist’s home decoration is very unique, new and different, it makes it difficult for people to distinguish the appliances in the kitchen or any outlet in the house. The reason is because everything literally merges into one.
From bedding to living room furniture to kitchen appliances, every detail in Sam Cox’s living space is white and scribbled in black. When he took the reporter around his house, he admitted that he wasn’t sure if the kitchen would work after being painted on because the family hasn’t put it into use.
As told by Sam Cox, the main inspiration for doodling comes from childhood cartoons Tom and Jerry, Wacky Races and the mischievous sponge, and video games like Crash Bandicoot. He started his “strange” hobby at an early age on discarded pieces of paper, then convinced his parents to let him paint in his bedroom and gradually became a talent as he grew up.
The male artist studied illustration at the University of the West of England, Bristol (UK). According to the art market website Artnet, in 2020, Sam Cox ranked 5th in the world in the list of successful artists under 40 in terms of auction activities. One of his artworks was sold for £890,000 (about 25.6 billion VND).
Sam Cox’s wife enthusiastically supported her husband in creating a house filled with drawings.
Sam Cox created an animation to show the completion of his villa. “The animation consists of 1,857 photos, carefully taken by me between September 2020 and September 2022. The whole house is real, everything is doodled by hand and the animations are not supported by technology,” he said.
Also a Doodle artist, Alena (wife of Sam Cox, from Ukraine) has always supported her husband enthusiastically in creating a house filled with drawings. Occasionally, she also helps her husband color in his other projects.
