Asha Mandela (61 years old, Florida (USA)) was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the woman with the longest hair in the world at 5.96m. Her hair was confirmed on 11/11/2009. As of early 2022, her hair has grown to 16.9m.
“I had a dream before that a cobra crawled up to me and said ‘you’ve been chosen’. Since then, I consider my hair to be a royal crown or a cobra,” she said. Her hair weighs 19kg, which is three times heavier than a real cobra.
Her husband is a professional hair stylist. He often styled his wife’s hair.
She washes her hair once a week, uses 6 bottles of shampoo and takes 2 days to dry them.
Mrs. Mandela said she considers her hair a part of her soul. Before that many other long-haired record holders had decided to cut their hair – like Nilanshi Patel, the teenager with the world’s longest hair.
